The Effect of Using Flashcards on Students’ Arabic Vocabulary Mastery at MA Istiqomah Sri Gunting

Abstract


This study aims to determine the effect of using flashcards on students’ Arabic vocabulary mastery at MA Istiqomah Sri Gunting. The study employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method. The research subjects were students of MA Istiqomah Sri Gunting who participated in Arabic language learning. Data were collected through Arabic vocabulary mastery tests administered before and after the implementation of flashcard-based learning. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics to determine the differences and effects of flashcard use on students’ vocabulary mastery. The results indicate that the use of flashcards had a positive effect on students’ Arabic vocabulary mastery. Flashcards helped students recognize, remember, understand, and use Arabic vocabulary more easily. The use of this medium also created a more engaging and interactive learning environment, thereby increasing students’ attention and involvement in the learning process. Therefore, flashcards can be used as an effective alternative instructional medium for improving students’ Arabic vocabulary mastery at MA Istiqomah Sri Gunting.
