The Effect of the Question-and-Answer Method on Students’ Learning Engagement in the Al-Qur’an Hadith Subject at MAS PAB 4 Klumpang
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of the question-and-answer method on students’ learning engagement in the Al-Qur’an Hadith subject at MAS PAB 4 Klumpang. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of students participating in Al-Qur’an Hadith learning at MAS PAB 4 Klumpang, while the sample was determined using a sampling technique appropriate to the characteristics of the population. Data were collected through a learning engagement questionnaire and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, simple linear regression analysis, t-test, and coefficient of determination. The results indicate that the implementation of the question-and-answer method has a positive effect on students’ learning engagement. The method encourages students to pay greater attention to learning materials, ask questions, provide answers, express opinions, and participate actively in classroom interactions. Therefore, the question-and-answer method can be used as an effective instructional strategy to improve students’ learning engagement in Al-Qur’an Hadith learning at MAS PAB 4 Klumpang.
