Focus and Scope

Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran is a scientific journal that focuses on publishing research findings, theoretical studies, and innovative ideas in the field of education and teaching. This journal aims to serve as an academic platform for the development of educational sciences that are relevant to contemporary advancements, particularly in the context of learning and educational practices.

The scope of the journal includes the following areas:

  1. Teaching and Instruction. This area covers strategies, methods, techniques, and models of effective teaching across various educational levels, including innovations in the learning process.
  2. Educational Development. This includes efforts to improve the quality of education through innovation, policy, and the sustainable development of educational systems.
  3. Educational Management. This focuses on the management of educational institutions, educational leadership, school/madrasah governance, and organizational effectiveness in education.
  4. Curriculum Studies. This area encompasses the development, implementation, evaluation, and innovation of curricula in various educational contexts.
  5. Philosophy of Education. This examines the philosophical foundations of education, educational thinkers, and the values underlying educational practices.
  6. Educational Approaches. This includes various approaches in education, such as constructivist, humanistic, behaviorist, and value-based approaches.
  7. Instructional Media Development. This focuses on the design, development, and utilization of instructional media, both technology-based and non-technology-based, to enhance the effectiveness of learning.

Peer Review Process

Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communication with the author, may also assist the author in improving the quality of the manuscript. All manuscripts submitted to Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran are processed through a rigorous peer review system to ensure academic integrity and publication quality.

Review Process

Manuscripts submitted through the online system will first be evaluated by the editorial board in terms of their suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with in-house style, and plagiarism screening. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected or returned to the authors before entering the review stage.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will proceed to a double-blind peer review process, where both the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

The editor will invite selected reviewers via email by providing the manuscript title and abstract. Reviewers will log in to the journal system to confirm their willingness, download the manuscript, submit their comments, and provide recommendations (accepted, revised, or rejected). The review process is typically completed within a minimum of two weeks.

Based on the reviewers’ comments, the editor will make a final decision. The results will be communicated to the authors for further revision if necessary. Accepted manuscripts will be published in Indonesian, English, or Arabic.

Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers

1. Promptness

Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the manuscript or is unable to complete the review promptly should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

2. Confidentiality

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others without authorization from the editor.

3. Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly and support them with strong arguments.

4. Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any similarity or overlap with other published works should be reported to the editor.

5. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Privileged information obtained through the review process must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Publication Ethics

Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran follow the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (Committee on Publication Ethics - COPE-) in all matters related to the ethics of publication. Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran adapting to meet the highest standards of ethics intended for editors, writers, and Reviewer. Publisher does not have the right to interfere with the integrity of the paper and is only responsible for publishing regularly and on time.

FOR EDITOR

  1. Editor Party Must ensure that writers follow the procedures/rules of writing in the Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran.
  2. The Editor can communicate with the Journal Manager, Editor, and Reviewer other in taking the Final Decision.
  3. Editors should refuse assignments when there is a possible conflict of interest
  4. The Editor must provide manuscripts assess objectively without seeing aspects of nationality, ethnicity, political affiliation, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, seniority, or institutional affiliation author.
  5. Editors should refuse assignments when there is a possible conflict of interes.
  6. Editors must ensure that the manuscript sent to reviewers do not contain information about the author, and vice versa.
  7. Decisions editors must be delivered to the author with responses Reviewer, except for responses that are personal or libelous.
  8. Editors should honor requests from writers who refuse individuals to evaluate manuscripts for reasons unacceptable.
  9. When the Editor finds or suspects Violation action writing and conflict authorship, editors can follow the guidelines in the flow diagram in resolving conflict COPE authorship.
  10. Editor and all staff must ensure the confidentiality of all the manuscripts received

FOR REVIEWER 

  1. Reviewers are asked to provide an assessment of the substance of the manuscript in accordance with the Focus and Scope Journal and provide recommendations on assessment.
  2. Reviewers are asked to provide comments on the manuscript, if it is suspected find procedural mistakes of writing, publishing and publishing ethics
  3. Mitra Bestari can complete work on at a predetermined time and provide information to the editor if they are unable to meet the time limit specified.
  4. Reviewers must be able to be confidential manuscripts Author.
  5. Reviewers should not accept manuscripts for appraisal, if potential conflicts of interest, both individually and collaboratively with any institution.
  6. Reviewers should ask for consideration to the Editor on the similarity of substance or overlap between the manuscript under consideration or manuscript that was published more in common with Author or other.
  7. privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain.

FOR AUTHORS

  1. The author must ensure that the manuscript is original and not plagiarism.
  2. The author must ensure that the manuscript has not been published previously and have never been assigned the rights to the article to the other party.
  3. The author ensures that manuscript Send tends to the work itself and follow the standard rules in accordance with the format quoting the appropriate reference.
  4. The author must ensure that the manuscript is original and does not engage in plagiarism or automatic plagiarism and Self-Plagiarism.
  5. Authors must follow the procedures established of Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran.
  6. The author does not send the manuscript together with the same topic and title to another journal.
  7. Authors should be able to provide information and make research data related details when the editor discovered the alleged doubts or falsification or plagiarism in the manuscripts. If the author finds any errors or inaccuracies that affect the manuscript which has been sent, the writer must promptly notify the Editor to immediately withdraw the manuscript writing and repairing.
  8. The author is not allowed to withdraw the article being reviewed by the reviewer before being restored by a Reviewer to the Editor.

 

Submission Guidelines

Submission Guidelines Manuscripts must be submitted via online, with the following steps:

  1. Online paper submited in the portal Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran, link: https://ejurnalilmiah.com/index.php/Educate/user/register 
  2. Select Menu REGISTER on the homepage, author registering as a Writer (Checking role as Author) at the address: https://ejurnalilmiah.com/index.php/Educate/user/register
  3. Once Writer login as Author, click on "New Submission". Stages submit an article consists of five stages, namely: (1). Start, (2). Upload Submission, (3). Enter Metadata, (4). Upload Supplementary Files, (5). confirmation
  4. Start section, select the Journal Section (Full Article), check all the options
  5. In the Upload Submission, please upload the manuscript file in MS Word (doc) article in this section
  6. In the Enter Metadata, data enter all Writers and their affiliates, followed by the title and abstract, and indexing keywords.
  7. Upload Supplementary Files in part, is allowed to upload files data to support or cover letter or another document.
  8. On the Confirmation, please click "Finish Submission" if all the information is correct.

Correction and Retraction Policies

The papers published in the Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran will be considered to retract in the publication if: 

  1. They have clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of misconduct (e.g. data fabrication) or honest error (e.g. miscalculation or experimental error)
  2. The findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper crossreferencing, permission or justification (i.e. cases of redundant publication)
  3. It constitutes plagiarism
  4. It reports unethical research

Plagiarism Policy

Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran state that plagiarism is not acceptable for all author and therefore establishes the following policy stating specific actions (penalties) when plagiarism is identified by plagiarism cheker software in an article that is submitted for publication. We are using Turnitin  as the plagiarism checker software.

“Plagiarism is copying another person’s text or ideas and passing the copied material as your own work. You must both delineate (i.e., separate and identify) the copied text from your text and give credit to (i.e., cite the source) the source of the copied text to avoid accusations of plagiarism.  Plagiarism is considered fraud and has potentially harsh consequences including loss of job, loss of reputation, and the assignation of reduced or failing grade in a course."

This definition of plagiarism applies for copied text and ideas:
  1. Regardless of the source of the copied text or idea.
  2. Regardless of whether the author(s) of the text or idea which you have copied actually copied that  text or idea from another source.
  3. Regardless of whether or not the authorship of the text or idea which you copy is known
  4. Regardless of the nature of your text (journal paper/article, web page, book chapter, paper submitted for a college course, etc) into which you copy the text or idea
  5. Regardless of whether or not the author of the source of the copied material gives permission for the material to be copied; and
  6. Regardless of whether you are or are not the author of the source of the copied text or idea (self-plagiarism).
 
When plagiarism is identified by the Plagiarism Checker  software,  the Editorial Board responsible for the review of this paper and will agree on measures according to the extent of plagiarism detected in the article in agreement with the following guidelines:
 
Minor Plagiarism
A small sentence or short paragraph of another manuscript is plagiarized without any significant data or idea taken from the other papers or publications.
Punishment: A warning is given to the authors and a request to change the manuscript and properly cite the original sources.
 
Intermediate Plagiarism
A significant data, paragraph, or sentence of an article is plagiarized without proper citation to the original source.
Punishment: The submitted article is automatic rejected.
 
Severe Plagiarism
A large portion of an article is plagiarized that involves many aspects such as reproducing original results (data, formulation, equation, law, statement, etc.), ideas, and methods presented in other publications.
Punishment: The paper is automatic rejected and the authors are forbidden to submit further articles to the journal.
 
Retraction
The articles published in Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran will be considered to retract in the publication if:
