Author Guidelines
Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran

Authors are required to read and follow these guidelines carefully before submitting a manuscript to Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's requirements may be returned to the authors for revision before proceeding to the editorial review process.
A. General Requirements
Language: Manuscripts must be written in proper Indonesian or English, using clear, academic, and grammatically correct language.
Manuscript Length: Manuscripts should be between 10 and 20 pages. Manuscripts exceeding 20 pages will be subject to editorial consideration.
Reference Management: Authors must use reference management software, such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote, to manage citations and references according to the American Psychological Association (APA) Style, 7th Edition.
Manuscript Components: The manuscript must begin with the following information:
Article title;
Author name(s);
Author affiliation(s);
Author email address(es);
Abstract in Indonesian and English, each containing 150–200 words;
Keywords relevant to the article's subject.

Online Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform:
Copyright Transfer: Manuscripts accepted for publication must be accompanied by a completed Copyright Transfer Form in accordance with the journal's requirements.
Editorial Notification: The journal aims to provide an initial editorial notification within 30 days after submission. The actual processing time may vary depending on editorial screening, reviewer availability, and the revision process.
B. Manuscript Structure
Research articles should generally follow the structure below. The structure may be adjusted for conceptual articles, literature reviews, and other manuscript types where appropriate.
1. Introduction
The introduction should establish the context and rationale for the study. It should include:
General background and context of the research;
Identification and explanation of the research problem;
Review of relevant previous studies and the current state of the art;
Research gap and scientific novelty;
Research objectives or hypotheses.
The literature review should be integrated into the introduction rather than presented as a separate section. Authors should use relevant and credible scholarly sources to establish the significance and originality of the study.
2. Method
The method section should describe the research procedures clearly, systematically, and sufficiently to enable readers to understand how the study was conducted.
This section should include relevant information about the research design, participants or data sources, instruments, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques, as appropriate to the study. The methods must be aligned with the research objectives or hypotheses.
3. Results
The results section should present the research findings based on the methods described. Findings must be supported by sufficient and relevant data.
Tables, figures, graphs, or other visual presentations may be included when they help clarify the findings. This section should focus on presenting the results without extended interpretation or comparison with previous studies.
4. Discussion
The discussion section should explain and interpret the research findings in relation to the research questions, objectives, or hypotheses. It should include:
Interpretation and significance of the main findings;
Scientific reasoning that explains the findings;
Analysis of relevant patterns, relationships, or observed phenomena;
Comparison with previous studies and relevant theories;
Implications of the findings for educational theory, practice, or policy, where applicable.
The discussion should demonstrate the contribution of the research and explain how the findings address the identified research problem.
5. Conclusion
The conclusion should summarize the main findings in relation to the research objectives or hypotheses. It should emphasize the principal contributions of the study rather than repeat the results and discussion verbatim.
Recommendations for educational practice, policy, or future research may be included when supported by the findings. Any limitations that materially affect the interpretation of the findings may also be acknowledged.
6. References
The references section must comply with the following requirements:
All sources cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and every reference listed must be cited in the text.
At least 80% of the references must come from scientific journals.
References should preferably be published within the last five years, except for seminal works, foundational theories, and other sources essential to the study.
A minimum of 15 references is required.
All citations and references must follow APA Style, 7th Edition.
Authors must use reference management software, such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote, to maintain accuracy and consistency.
DOI links or URLs should be included when available and applicable.
C. Reference Style and Examples
Authors must apply APA Style, 7th Edition, consistently throughout the manuscript. The following examples illustrate common reference types.

General format:

3. Translated Books
For translated books, include the original author's name, publication information, and translator information in accordance with APA Style, 7th Edition.
General format:
Author, A. A. (Year). Title of the book (T. Translator, Trans.). Publisher. (Original work published Year)
4. Conference Proceedings
Sari, D. P., & Putra, A. (2019). Development of IT-based learning media. In Proceedings of the National Education Seminar (pp. 120–128).
General format:
Author, A. A. (Year). Title of the paper. In Title of the proceedings (pp. xx–xx). Publisher. DOI or URL, if available.
5. Official Documents and Regulations
Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. (2020). Guidelines for learning during COVID-19.
Republic of Indonesia. (2003). Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System.
Note: Authors must verify the accuracy and completeness of all bibliographic information before submitting a manuscript. The examples above are illustrative; the publication details of each source must be checked against the original publication.
D. Additional Provisions
1. Originality and Plagiarism
Manuscripts must be original and must not infringe the intellectual property rights of others. Authors must properly acknowledge all sources and avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and other forms of research misconduct.
Manuscripts are subject to similarity screening in accordance with the journal's plagiarism policy. A similarity score alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred; the editorial team also considers the nature and context of the matching material.
2. Exclusive Submission
A manuscript must not have been previously published or be under consideration by another journal at the same time. If any relevant circumstances require explanation, authors must disclose them to the editor during submission.
3. Research Ethics
Authors must comply with applicable research ethics requirements, including informed consent, participant confidentiality, and ethical approval where relevant. Any potential conflicts of interest and sources of research funding must be disclosed as applicable.
4. Use of Artificial Intelligence
Authors must comply with the journal's applicable policy on the use of artificial intelligence. Any use of generative AI that requires disclosure under that policy must be transparently reported. AI tools cannot be listed as authors, and authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their manuscripts.
5. Copyright
Authors of accepted manuscripts must complete the required copyright documentation and comply with the journal's copyright and licensing policy.
6. Editorial Review
Manuscripts are subject to initial editorial screening and peer review in accordance with the journal's editorial policies. Submission does not guarantee acceptance. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on editorial and reviewer feedback.
E. Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submitting a manuscript, authors must confirm that all the following requirements have been met. Submissions that do not comply may be returned for correction.
The manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration by another journal, unless an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor.
The submission file is in an accepted document format, such as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), OpenOffice (.odt), RTF, or WordPerfect, as supported by the journal's submission system.
URLs or DOI links have been provided for references where available.
The manuscript uses single line spacing and a 12-point font. Italics are used instead of underlining, except for URL addresses.
Tables, figures, and illustrations are placed at appropriate points within the manuscript rather than collected only at the end.
The manuscript follows the formatting, stylistic, structural, and bibliographic requirements described in these Author Guidelines and the official journal template.
Citations and references follow APA Style, 7th Edition, and are managed using reference management software.
The manuscript contains an abstract in both Indonesian and English, each consisting of 150–200 words.
The reference list contains at least 15 references, with at least 80% drawn from scientific journals.
The manuscript has been checked for originality and complies with the journal's publication ethics requirements.
If the manuscript is submitted to a peer-reviewed section, the authors have followed the journal's instructions for ensuring a double-blind review, including removing identifying information from the review manuscript where required.
Authors have prepared the required Copyright Transfer Form for submission if the manuscript is accepted for publication.
By submitting a manuscript to Educate: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran, authors acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with these guidelines and the journal's applicable editorial and publication ethics policies.
